#Americantreesparrow Facts: The American Tree Sparrow is a medium-sized sparrow also known as the Winter Sparrow. American Tree Sparrows also have a two-toned bill, darker on the top and yellow on the bottom. You can distinguish this #sparrow from other sparrows by looking for the small dark spot on their grey chest They have a grey face with a rusty cap and line through their eye.They look similar to a Chipping Sparrow, but these sparrows will have started their migration south before the American Tree Sparrows arrive. #Canada #Goose Facts: Canada Geese mate for life, choosing their mate at 2-3 years of age. They have a #life span of 10-25 years. One who lived in captivity reached the age of 40. #Baby Geese, Goslings, are taught to swim 24 hours after being born. Goslings can dive 30-40 feet under water after a few days of learning to swim. #Goslings will follow almost anything that moves, including dogs, humans and ducks They can fly at altitudes from 2,000 to 9,000 feet. Goslings learn to fly when they are 2-3 months old. Voice:Communication with each other during flight is by honking. They have about 13 different calls ranging from the ka-lunk sound you hear while in flight, down to softer sounds made while feeding. Do you know? #Mourningdove Facts: The Mouring dove is also named beautiful bird. Mourning doves have fairly neutral coloration that allows them to blend in almost anywhere. Seeds make up 99 percent of a Mourning Dove’s diet, including cultivated grains and even peanuts, as well as wild grasses, weeds, herbs, and occasionally berries. They sometimes eat #snails. Primarily a bird of open country, scattered #trees, and #woodland edges, but large numbers roost in woodlots during winter. #Feeds on ground in grasslands, agricultural fields, backyards, and roadsides Voice:A wooing call, an enticement to a mate or potential mate.The oldest observed mourning dove life span was 9 years 7months old.
